Zusammenfassung

Lumen seeks a Lead SRE for its Network as a Service (NaaS) platform. You’ll own platform reliability, partner with ops and development teams, and drive automation and AI-assisted tooling across cloud topologies.

You will define observability, incident management, and scalable architectures while mentoring engineers and documenting best practices. This remote role supports US-based operations.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, computer science, or related field.
• 8+ years in software development, systems engineering, and/or networking.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong automation and infrastructure-as-code skills: Terraform, Ansible, and Python.
• Experience running containerized workloads on Kubernetes.
• Experience with modern observability and monitoring tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus).
• Incident management and blameless postmortems experience.
• Comfort using AI-assisted development and agentic tools.
• Understanding of network technologies (Internet, Ethernet, IPVPN, Edge Compute, Optical).
• Strong listening and communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Reliability & Observability: be SME for network automation platform applications and hosting environments.
• Build and maintain observability stack with metrics, dashboards, and health visuals.
• Define and tune proactive alerting to surface issues early.
• Champion SRE principles (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets) and architect for resilience.
• Incident Management: participate in on-call, lead incident response, perform blameless postmortems.
• Automation & Infrastructure: automate deployment pipelines and cloud provisioning via IaC.
• Develop tools to reduce toil and enable autonomous teams.
• Apply AI-assisted workflows to development, support, and investigation work.
• Collaboration & Leadership: mentor juniors and document processes and architecture.
