Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a senior Technology Architect to define target-state architecture for its customer communications and marketing tech ecosystem. You will partner with Caremark, Aetna, and other units to design scalable platforms, APIs, and data models that enable compliant, high-volume messaging.

The role emphasizes enterprise and solution architecture across Adobe and Salesforce ecosystems, with a focus on cloud-based infrastructure, data flows, identity, and consent management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of technology experience, including enterprise/platform/solution architecture.
• Experience architecting large-scale software platforms, cloud infrastructure, integrations, APIs, and data flows.
• Hands-on architecture experience in customer communications, marketing tech, or related domains.
• Experience with Salesforce, Adobe Experience Cloud, or comparable enterprise engagement tech.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, event-driven patterns, messaging, JSON, and integration frameworks.
• Experience designing cloud-based apps/infrastructure, preferably on GCP.
• Knowledge of data models, identity resolution, and high-volume data ecosystems.
• Understanding of customer consent, preferences, privacy, and compliance in outbound communications.
• Ability to guide engineering teams through complex designs without being the primary developer.
• Experience with vendor evaluations and build-vs-buy decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to explain trade-offs to senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Define target-state architecture and multi-year roadmap for CVS Health’s communications & marketing tech ecosystem.
• Architect scalable platforms across customer communications, journey management, personalization, and data.
• Guide modernization across Adobe, Salesforce, and other platforms.
• Design API-led, event-driven integrations with enterprise data, identity, cloud, and business apps.
• Translate capabilities into implementable technical designs including APIs and data models.
• Enable outbound channels (email, SMS, push) and manage consent, preferences, and retention.
• Embed governance, compliance, and security controls into platform architecture.
• Shape data flows, identity relationships, and high-volume processing patterns.
• Lead vendor assessments, proofs of concept, and build-vs-buy decisions.
• Present recommendations and risks to senior leaders with trade-offs.
