Job summary

Pearson, the world’s learning company, is hiring remote scorers to evaluate responses from teacher candidates across languages. The starting rate is $17.50 per hour, with flexible scoring sessions that fit your availability and the work conducted remotely.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or higher, and either a current teaching certification in the language with recent teaching in schools, or a college degree in a content field with teaching or advising experience.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or higher, and
• A current teaching certification in the language you are applying for and have taught in schools within the last three years
• Native or fluent speaker of the language with a college degree

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by Illinois and New York teacher candidates
• Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities
• Recognize and discuss various types of bias and strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring
• Meet quality and productivity requirements and pass a qualifying test before scoring
