Intermountain Health is seeking a Laboratory Genetic Counselor to support Select Health and the Genetic Laboratory Stewardship program. The role involves remote work with occasional onsite activities and focuses on counseling, education, and utilization review of genetic testing.

Responsibilities include reviewing pre-authorization requests, educating providers about testing options and billing, and contributing to research efforts.

Qualificações

• Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program
• Eligibility for ABGC certification at time of hire with completion within one year
• Licensed as a Genetic Counselor in Utah
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience reading, interpreting, and evaluating scientific literature
• Experience using PowerPoint, word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and scheduling
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Responsabilidades

• Review genetic testing pre-authorization requests, appeals, and medical coverage policies
• Educate ordering providers on genetic testing options, insurance and billing matters, test results, and medical management
• Provide occasional patient education and counseling regarding genetic test options or results
• Conduct utilization review/lab stewardship to determine proper test ordering by provider
• Participate in research projects and prepare manuscripts for journals
• Communicate clearly with providers and patients
• Participate in peer review with peers
