Qualifications

• Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program.
• Eligibility for ABGC certification at time of hire with certification within one year.
• Licensed Genetic Counselor in Utah.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and critically evaluating scientific literature.

Responsibilities

• Review genetic testing pre-authorizations, appeals, and medical coverage policies.
• Educate ordering providers on genetic testing options, insurance, billing, and medical management.
• Provide occasional patient education and counseling on test options or results.
• Conduct utilization review to determine proper test ordering and manage complex cases.
• Participate in research projects with opportunities to present findings and prepare manuscripts.
