Job summary

Intermountain Health in Murray, Utah is seeking a Laboratory Genetic Counselor to support Select Health contracts and the Genetic Laboratory Stewardship Program. The role focuses on development, implementation, and quality review of clinical genetic testing, with occasional patient consultation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program.
• Eligibility for ABGC certification at hire with certification within one year.
• Licensed as a Genetic Counselor in Utah.

Responsibilities

• Support SelectHealth pre-authorization reviews, appeals, and coverage policies.
• Educate providers on genetic testing options, coverage, and billing.
• Provide occasional patient education and counseling on test options or results.
• Conduct utilization review to ensure proper test ordering and manage complex cases.
• Participate in research projects and prepare manuscripts for journals.
• Communicate clearly with providers and patients in written and verbal form.
• Engage in peer review and constructive feedback with colleagues.
