Intermountain Health seeks a Laboratory Genetic Counselor to support Select Health and the Genetic Laboratory Stewardship Program. The role involves independent and team-based work in developing, implementing, and reviewing clinical genetic testing, with a remote/hybrid mix and potential on-site interviews.

The position emphasizes reviewing pre-authorization requests, educating providers on testing options and billing, and contributing to research and manuscripts.

Formación

• Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program.
• Eligibility for ABGC certification at time of hire; certification required within one year.
• Licensed Genetic Counselor in Utah.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience reading and critically evaluating scientific literature.
• Experience using PowerPoint, word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and scheduling.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Review genetic testing pre-authorization requests, appeals, and coverage policies.
• Educate ordering providers on genetic testing options, insurance and billing matters.
• Provide occasional patient education and counseling on tests or results.
• Conduct utilization review to ensure proper test ordering by providers.
• Participate in research projects and prepare manuscripts for journals.
• Communicate clearly with providers and patients in verbal and written form.
• Participate in peer review with peers.
