Job summary

CAI is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead and deliver technology projects from initiation through closure. This remote, contract role requires strong stakeholder communication and expertise with Agile or Waterfall methodologies to drive success within scope, schedule, and budget.

You will work with sponsors and cross‑functional teams, develop charters and plans, monitor risks, and ensure governance standards are followed, contributing to program maturity and value realization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Project Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive professional experience in project management, including large engineering projects
• Demonstrated experience managing projects through the full lifecycle
• Experience developing project plans, budgets, schedules, and resource allocations
• Strong knowledge of governance, risk management, issue management, and change control processes
• Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Planisware, or similar platforms
• Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from initiation through closure within approved timelines, budgets, and scope
• Develop project charters, objectives, deliverables, budgets, and schedules with sponsors and stakeholders
• Monitor risks, issues, dependencies, resources, and change requests
• Communicate status to stakeholders, PMOs, and steering committees
• Coordinate staffing with functional managers as needed
• Ensure documentation complies with project management standards
• Facilitate risk identification, mitigation planning, and change management
• Track financials, resource allocations, and forecasts across fiscal periods
• Collaborate to define and realize project benefits and business value
• Contribute to continuous improvement through lessons learned and best practices
• Lead closeout activities including summaries and leadership reviews
