Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced inpatient coder for the 10407 Enterprise Revenue Cycle – Coding Production Operations. This role involves coding complex inpatient cases across cardiology, neurology, and oncology service lines using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS within a 40-hour week.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s degree in Health Information Management and a coding certification (AAPC or AHIMA) with at least 7 years of inpatient coding experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required in HIM or related field.
• 7+ years inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting.
• Experience with revenue cycle, CDI, and health information workflows.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure code selections follow Official Coding Guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain high-quality productivity (≥95% quality and ≥100% productivity).
• Collaborate with CDI and Quality teams to match DRG and reconcile Medicare cases.
