Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced inpatient coder to join the 10407 Enterprise Revenue Cycle - Coding Production Operations team. The role focuses on assigning ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS codes for inpatient cases across cardiology, neurology, and oncology service lines.

You will use an EMR and coding software, adhere to Official Coding Guidelines, and collaborate with Clinical Documentation Improvement and Quality teams to ensure accurate DRG reconciliation and proper reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field.
• 7 years' inpatient coding experience in acute care.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign ICD-10 CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure correct code selection following Official Coding Guidelines and regulations.
• Adhere to department policies to ensure efficient work processes.
• Code high dollar and long length of stay cases for all patient types.
• Maintain CDI guidelines and collaborate with leadership.
