Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to address coding quality, compliance reviews, external payer reviews, and coding education. The role is fully remote with a flexible schedule, including PRN support.

Strong experience in inpatient facility coding and CHS/DRG accuracy is essential. You will audit and justify coding decisions, stay updated on regulations, and collaborate with teams to optimize workflows and education.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient facility coding audits according to scope of work for onboarding, focused, SLAs or other reviews.
• Provides rationale with references and locations of documentation for changes.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases concurrently for workflow efficiency.
• Provides coder education via the auditing process.
• Acts in a professional, efficient, and positive manner.
• Adheres to AHIMA code of ethics.
• Demonstrates customer-service focus and professionalism.
