Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to support coding quality, compliance assessments, external payer reviews, and educational needs. This fully remote role offers a flexible schedule and potential PRN support for IA IP auditing, with spinal experience a plus and approximately 20 hours/week.

You will perform inpatient facility coding audits using MS DRG/APR DRGs, provide rationale for changes, and stay current with regulatory changes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS is required; RHIA or RHIT preferred.
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient facility coding audits per scope of work for onboarding, focused, SLAs or other reviews.
• Provide concise rationale with references and documentation locations for changes.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes.
• Organize and prioritize multiple cases to optimize workflow and turnaround time.
• Educate coders through the auditing process.
• Operate professionally, efficiently, and positively.
• Adhere to AHIMA's code of ethics.
• Be customer-service oriented, flexible, dependable, eager to learn and committed to the profession.
• Handle high complexity of work and decisions.
• Demonstrate strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills.
