Datavant seeks an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to drive coding quality, education, and payer reviews. This fully remote role demands expert auditing with strong documentation rationale and regulatory awareness.

You will support onboarding and various reviews while maintaining high accuracy. The position emphasizes customer service, professionalism, and collaboration, with an emphasis on 20 hours/week PRN support and potential Spinal-related experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS certification required; RHIA or RHIT preferred.
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner and other EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient facility coding audits per scope of work using MS DRG/APR DRGs.
• Provides concise rationale with documentation references for changes.
• Stays updated on regulatory changes.
• Manages multiple cases to ensure timely turnaround.
• Educates coders through the auditing process.
• Maintains professional, efficient, and positive conduct.
• Adheres to AHIMA code of ethics.
• Exhibits customer service focus, professionalism, flexibility, and commitment.
• Demonstrates high complexity decision making and leadership.
• Shows strong organization and teamwork.
