Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Full-time Inpatient Hospital Coder to join the Appeals & Denials Department in a remote capacity. The candidate will code inpatient accounts using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT-4 where needed, and ensure accurate abstracting for billing submission.

Required RHIT/RHIA/CCS credentials and 3-5 years of acute care coding experience. The role supports coding documentation with CDI/HIM teams and requires strong attention to detail and time management.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in acute care setting

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for each patient account.
• Assign CPT-4 codes for Observation accounts when applicable.
• Verify and submit abstracted information to the billing system.
• Maintain coding accuracy to support A/R goals.
• Collaborate with Management, CDI and HIM on coding documentation.
