Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. is seeking an Inpatient Hospital Coder for a remote role in the Appeals & Denials Department. You will code inpatient accounts using ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4 where applicable, and submit abstracts to the billing system for claims processing.

The role requires 3–5 years of coding experience, AHIMA credentials (RHIT/RHIA/CCS), and the ability to work with minimal supervision from approved remote states in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of inpatient coding experience.
• AHIMA certifications required (RHIT or RHIA or CCS).
• High school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient accounts.
• Apply CPT-4 codes on Observation accounts when applicable.
• Submit abstracted information to billing system for claims.
• Maintain 100% discharge coding accuracy daily.
• Assist with ACHA, DNFB and post-bill denials/rebills.
• Collaborate with CDI and HIM for documentation.
