Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. is seeking a Full-time Inpatient Hospital Coder to join the Appeals & Denials Department in a remote capacity. You will identify and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient accounts and ensure compliance with State and Federal requirements.

Candidates must hold RHIT or RHIA or CCS credentials, have 3-5 years coding knowledge, and be proficient with encoder and EHR systems. High school diploma required. Remote work permitted from approved states.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• RHIT, AHIMA or RHIA, AHIMA or CCS certification required.
• 3-5 years coding knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient accounts per state and federal requirements.
• Know CPT coding classification and CPT-4 codes for Observation accounts when applicable.
• Verify and submit abstracted information to billing system for claim submission.
• Maintain Coding A/R goals by processing 100% of discharged accounts daily.
• Coordinate with Management, CDI and HIM on coding documentation and provide mentorship.
