Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. is seeking a Remote Inpatient Hospital Coder to join the Appeals & Denials Department. You will identify and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient accounts and support claim submissions through accurate coding and documentation review.

The role requires RHIT, RHIA, or CCS credentials and 3–5 years of coding experience. Proficiency with CPT-4 on observation accounts and working knowledge of EHR systems and encoders are essential.

Qualifications

• RHIT, RHIA or CCS credential required.
• 3–5 years of coding experience required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient accounts.
• Apply CPT-4 coding on Observation accounts when applicable.
• Verify and submit abstracted information to billing system for claim submission.
• Maintain coding A/R goals by completing 100% of discharged accounts daily.
• Coordinate with Management, CDI and HIM on coding documentation.
