Pena4 Inc. seeks an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) to handle inpatient and outpatient accounts remotely. The role requires IP PCS coding experience and the CCS credential, with test assessments for candidacy. Immediate start and full-time hours are offered.

The coder will work with Cerner, PowerChart, 3M, and EPIC systems, ensure accurate coding, and strive for optimal DRG assignments while maintaining high productivity and quality.

Qualifications

• CCS certificate is required.
• At least 5 years of IP PCS Coding experience.
• At least 3 years OP, preferred.
• Remote, 100% remote.

Responsabilités

• Examines the complete medical record to determine principal & secondary diagnoses, procedures, and complications.
• Accurately sequences diagnoses & procedures, maintaining 95% accuracy.
• Strives to obtain optimal DRG assignments on each record coded with computer assistance.
• Maintains consistent performance, productivity, and quality.
• Holds accounts when more information is needed for accurate code/DRG assignment.
• Keeps coding literature current and shares updates with colleagues and supervisor.
• Completes all assignments as directed by management.
• Pursues continuing education in coding.
• Works as a team member to meet department and client goals.
• Performs related duties or special projects as assigned.
