Job summary

Pena4 Inc is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a remote, full-time role. The candidate must have at least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience and CCS certification.

Experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS, HCPCS CPT, and systems such as Cerner, PowerChart, 3M and EPIC is required. The position involves coding accuracy, DRG optimization, and passing coding assessments at start.

Immediate start; weekdays schedule; 100% remote work with regular day shifts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years IP PCS coding experience.
• CCS certification is required.
• 3+ years OP coding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examine the complete medical record to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence diagnoses and procedures accurately with high quality and 95% accuracy.
• Aim for optimal DRG assignments with support from computer systems.
• Maintain consistent performance and productivity.
• Escalate when additional information is needed for accurate coding.
• Keep current on coding guidelines and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Complete assignments as directed by management with reliability.
• Pursue continuing education to stay updated.
• Collaborate with team to meet department and client goals.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
