Pena4 Inc. is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a 100% remote, full-time position. The candidate should have at least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience and 3 years OP coding preferred, with CCS certification required.

Start date is immediate, and a coding assessment will be required. Responsibilities include reviewing records to determine diagnoses and procedures, ensuring accurate sequencing, and optimizing DRG assignments using Cerner, PowerChart, 3M, and EPIC systems.

Competenze

• 5+ years IP PCS coding experience required.
• CCS certification is required.
• Remote-work arrangement with 100% remote access.
• Full-time schedule, Weekdays.

Mansioni

• Examine the complete medical record to accurately determine principal & secondary diagnoses, procedures, and complications.
• Accurately sequence diagnoses & procedures, maintaining high accuracy.
• Strive to obtain optimal DRG assignments with assist from the computer system.
• Maintain a consistent level of productivity and quality.
• Hold accounts when more information is needed for accurate coding; contact staff as needed.
• Regularly review coding literature and stay current on guidelines; share with colleagues.
• Complete all assignments as directed by management.
• Pursue continuing education and professional development.
• Work as a team member to meet department and client goals.
