Immediate start with weekdays, full-time hours. The coder will review all inpatient and outpatient accounts, ensure accurate coding, and strive for optimal DRG assignments while collaborating with staff and leadership.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years IP PCS coding experience.
• CCS certification is required.
• Proficiency with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS.
• Experience with Cerner, PowerChart, 3M, and EPIC systems.

Responsibilities

• Examine the complete medical record to identify principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence diagnoses and procedures to maintain high accuracy (target ~95%).
• Strive for optimal DRG assignments with computer-assisted coding.
• Maintain steady productivity and quality levels; meet department goals.
• Coordinate with staff and management for information needs and guidance.
• Keep coding knowledge current with ongoing education and literature.
