Job summary

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide.

The High Voltage Preconstruction Project Manager will lead all preconstruction activities for HV electrical infrastructure including substations, transmission lines, and BESS, in a fully remote role with interview-stage location discussions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years in electrical construction/high-voltage, estimating, or PM roles.
• 3+ years leading preconstruction activities.
• Experience with substations, transmission lines, solar, wind, BESS, or industrial electrical projects.
• Experience managing projects over $10M preferred.
• Familiarity with HV substations, transmission/ distribution, and EPC/design-build methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction for HV electrical projects ranging 12kV to 500kV+.
• Oversee planning, budgeting, scheduling, and constructability reviews.
• Develop execution strategies aligned with client objectives and company goals.
• Coordinate preconstruction deliverables from inception through turnover.
• Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and detailed cost estimates.
• Review designs, specifications, and bid documents; analyze labor and material pricing.
• Serve as main contact for clients, utilities, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Lead risk assessment, constructability reviews, and value-engineering initiatives.
