Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a High Voltage Preconstruction Project Manager to lead all preconstruction activities for HV electrical projects including substations, transmission lines, and BESS.

The role oversees planning, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, procurement strategy, risk assessment, and client coordination from concept through construction handoff. This position is fully remote with discussions on location during interviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in electrical construction, high-voltage projects, estimating, or project management.
• 3+ years of experience leading preconstruction activities.
• Experience with substations, transmission lines, utility-scale solar, wind, BESS, or industrial electrical projects.
• Experience managing projects exceeding $10M.
• Familiarity with high-voltage substations, transmission/distribution, interconnection, electrical codes and EPC/design-build delivery.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction efforts for high-voltage projects (12kV to 500kV+).
• Oversee project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and constructability reviews.
• Develop execution strategies aligned with client objectives and company goals.
• Coordinate preconstruction deliverables from inception through turnover.
• Prepare cost estimates and analyze designs and bid documents.
• Review labor, equipment, and material pricing; develop takeoffs and cost-saving opportunities.
• Serve as primary preconstruction contact for clients, utilities, and internal stakeholders.
• Lead risk assessment, constructability reviews, and mitigation planning.
• Develop detailed project schedules; monitor critical path and milestones.
• Support procurement strategy; solicit and evaluate proposals; develop scopes of work.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration to align estimates, schedules, and execution plans.
