Job summary

Fivetran is seeking a seasoned community leader to manage and grow the dbt Slack community. You will foster a welcoming, high-signal space for data practitioners, partnering with internal teams to strengthen member experience, drive participation, and surface insights.

You’ll influence strategy across channels and coordinate with moderators worldwide. You’ll build scalable moderation workflows, mentor moderators, and develop content systems that keep members informed and activated.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in digital community management or similar
• Experience owning day-to-day operations for large online communities
• Strong understanding of online community dynamics and trust-building
• Experience building/modifying moderation and support workflows (Code of Conduct)
• Excellent written communication and facilitation skills
• Experience using community tooling/analytics to track engagement and trends
• Data-driven with defined KPIs for engagement/health
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Marketing, Support
• Cultural sensitivity across regions/timezones
• High EQ for navigating conflicts and ambiguity

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations of the dbt Slack community
• Collaborate with leaders to evolve channel strategy and engagement programs
• Develop scalable moderation and support workflows including Code of Conduct enforcement
• Coach moderators, onboard new moderators as community grows
• Create content systems to keep members informed and activated
• Surface insights to Product, Marketing, Support and close loop with outcomes
• Monitor engagement metrics and run experiments to improve them
• Manage community tool stack and document best practices
• Plan for incident response with Legal/People/Security as needed
• Support cross-channel digital engagement beyond Slack to unify member journey
