Job summary

Fivetran / dbt Labs is seeking a dedicated dbt community manager to lead our global Slack community. You will partner with internal teams to shape engagement strategies, maintain a welcoming space, and drive participation.

Your work will influence product insights and community health across regions, with a focus on scalable moderation and proactive engagement. You will own day-to-day operations, evolve channel guidelines, and build workflows to support a thriving data practitioner community

Qualifications

• 5+ years managing digital communities in global contexts.
• Experience running day-to-day operations for large online communities (Slack/Discord/Forum).
• Proven ability to build trust and belonging at scale.
• Experience creating moderation/workflows and enforcing codes of conduct.
• Strong written communication and facilitation skills.
• Experience with community tooling and analytics to track engagement.
• Data-driven decision making with KPI definition.
• Collaborates effectively with Product, Marketing, Support, and DX teams.
• Sensitivity to regional/timezone differences; high emotional intelligence.
• Ability to juggle multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations of the dbt Slack community for a global audience.
• Collaborate with leaders to evolve channel strategy and engagement programs.
• Develop scalable moderation and support workflows including Code of Conduct enforcement.
• Coach and onboard moderators as the community grows.
• Create content systems for announcements and community storytelling.
• Surface insights to Product, Marketing, and Support and close loop on outcomes.
• Monitor engagement metrics and run experiments to improve them.
• Manage the community tool stack and document best practices.
• Plan incident response with Legal/People/Security as needed.
• Support cross-channel engagement (forums, social, events) to craft a cohesive journey.
