Job summary

Fivetran is seeking a seasoned Community Manager to lead the dbt community, with a focus on Slack engagements, global participation, and inclusive governance. You will partner with cross‑functional teams and scale programs to drive activation and retention among data practitioners worldwide.

You’ll implement scalable workflows, nurture moderators, and surface insights to shape product and marketing decisions, all while upholding a welcoming, high-signal environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in digital community management or related fields.
• Experience owning day-to-day operations for large online communities (Slack/Discord/forum).
• Ability to build trust, belonging, and scale community health.
• Experience creating and improving moderation and support workflows.
• Excellent written communication and facilitation skills.
• Experience using analytics tools to track engagement and trends.
• Strong collaboration with product, marketing, support, and developer experience teams.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations of the dbt Slack community globally.
• Evolve channel strategy, guidelines, and engagement programming.
• Develop scalable moderation and support workflows, including Code of Conduct enforcement.
• Coach moderators; recruit and onboard new moderators as the community grows.
• Create content systems for announcements, highlights, prompts, and storytelling.
• Surface insights to Product, Marketing, and Support; close the loop with the community.
• Monitor engagement metrics and run experiments to improve health and growth.
• Manage the community tool stack and document best practices.
• Plan for incident response with Legal/People/Security as needed.
• Support cross-channel engagement beyond Slack for a cohesive journey.
