Job summary

LocalEyes is seeking a Finnish native MT Post-Editor to work remotely on machine translation outputs for IT/software content. You will post-edit light and full MT, ensuring semantic fidelity and terminological consistency while adhering to client style guides and glossaries.

Strong English skills and experience with TM tools and SDL Studio are required. The role is freelance with flexible project-based hours.

Qualifications

Degree in Translation, Applied Linguistics or equivalent experience.
Native Finnish speaker.
MTPE experience required.
IT/Software translation experience preferred.
Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
Experience with Translation Memory tools and TMS.
IT skills with SDL Studio and CAT tools.

Responsibilities

Perform Post-Editing (light and full) on MT outputs as per client specifications.
Ensure target text reflects the meaning of the source accurately.
Provide corrections and text optimization based on MT output.
Follow post-editing guidelines to meet client quality standards.
Perform linguistic tasks using references like translation memory, glossaries, and style guides.
Maintain high grammatical accuracy and correct terminology and cultural references.
Correct formatting, tagging, punctuation, and country-specific terminology as per guidelines.
