Job summary

LocalEyes is seeking a skilled Japanese MT post-editor for remote freelance work, aligning MT outputs with client specifications in IT/software localization.

You will edit light and full MT outputs, apply post-editing guidelines, use translation memories, glossaries and TMS, and maintain high linguistic accuracy under tight deadlines across diverse projects. Excellent command of English is required.

Qualifications

• Native speaker in Japanese
• MTPE experience required
• Experience in IT/software localization preferred
• Excellent command of English (reading/writing)

Responsibilities

• Post-edit MT outputs to reflect source meaning accurately
• Provide corrections and text optimization based on MT output
• Follow post-editing guidelines and client standards
• Use translation memory, glossaries and style guides as references
• Ensure high grammatical accuracy while maintaining terminology and cultural appropriateness
• Correct formatting, tagging, punctuation and country specifics as per guidelines
