Job summary

LocalEyes is seeking skilled freelance Machine Translation Post-Editors with Simplified Chinese to join our remote teams. You will post-edit MT outputs for IT/software content, ensuring the target reflects the source meaning and adheres to client guidelines.

Applicants should be a native Simplified Chinese speaker, hold a translation-related degree, have MTPE experience, and be proficient with translation memory tools, TMS, and SDL Studio. Flexible schedule and fast-paced projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Translation, Applied Linguistics or equivalent experience.
• Native speaker in Simplified Chinese.
• MTPE experience required.
• Preferred experience in IT/Software translation and proofreading.
• Excellent command of English (comprehension and writing).
• Experience with Translation Memory tools and Translation Management Systems (TMS).
• IT skills with knowledge and experience of SDL Studio and CAT tools.
• Comfortable with learning new tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure target text reflects the meaning of the source.
• Provide corrections and text optimization based on MT output.
• Follow post-editing guidelines and meet client quality standards.
• Perform linguistic tasks per project instructions (TM, glossary, style guides).
• Ensure high grammatical accuracy while maintaining key terminology and cultural references.
• Correct formatting, tagging, punctuation, country specifics, terminology, and style.
