The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) invites you to an in-person hiring event on 11/10/2026 in Austin for an Eligibility Advisor I – MES. This role supports access to SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, and related programs, helping Texans obtain essential services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 60 hours college preferred.
• 1 year of customer service experience; substitutions allowed for hours earned.
• Experience interviewing clients and gathering information in person or by phone is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants and recipients to determine financial eligibility for public assistance programs.
• Evaluate data from multiple sources to enter information into eligibility systems.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility determinations.
• Process work per state/federal regulations, procedures, and timeframes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
