Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission in Texas seeks an Eligibility Advisor I to determine financial eligibility for SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, and related programs. You will interview clients, collect data, and process benefits in a regulatory-compliant environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; college hours preferred.
• One year of customer service experience with public contact required or preferred.
• Experience interviewing clients and gathering personal information is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants and recipients to determine financial eligibility for public assistance programs.
• Evaluate data from various sources to enter information into the eligibility system.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility determinations.
• Process work in compliance with state and federal regulations and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
