Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) invites applications for the Eligibility Advisor I role in the AES division. This position focuses on determining financial eligibility for SNAP, TANF, Medicaid programs, and related services.

The role requires strong customer service skills and the ability to learn regulatory policies. Eligible for telework, with a daytime schedule and up to 10% travel; located in the Columbus area with opportunities for growth within the agency’s career track

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 60 sem hrs / 90 quarter hrs from an accredited college preferred.
• One year of customer service experience with public contact is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to determine financial eligibility for public assistance programs.
• Enter data into a computer-based eligibility system.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility determinations.
• Process work per state and federal regulations and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
