Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, seeks a Business Development Engineer for the US Air Force to bridge RF capabilities with DoD requirements. Travel up to 50% with a remote work option based on location, reporting to the Director of Applications Engineering.

You will support field trials, demonstrations, and technical proposals while coordinating with BD and engineering teams to shape product roadmaps for airborne and expeditionary networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense tech roles; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant tech experience.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP routing, or tactical communication systems.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
• Background check and drug test clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze US Air Force operational priorities and map requirements to radio solutions.
• Plan, configure networks, and run field trials and evaluations.
• Collaborate with engineering to leverage testing and benchmarking data for sound architectures.
• Support BD in meeting technical needs and align with strategic priorities.
• Develop and present technical demos for airborne and expeditionary networking needs.
• Contribute to RF/communications RFI/RFP responses.
• Perform market research on potential industry partnerships and test end-to-end architectures.
• Engage with Air Force PEOs, AFRL, AFLCMC, and TOC-L leads.
