Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, seeks a Business Development Engineer for the US Air Force to bridge RF capabilities with DoD requirements. You’ll support field trials, demonstrations, and technical planning across airborne, surface, expeditionary, and unmanned environments.

Travel up to 50% is expected; remote work option may apply depending on location. Collaboration with Applications Engineering and BD teams will shape solution architectures and roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EE/CE/CS/Network Eng or related C5ISR field with 2–5 years in systems engineering or defense tech roles.
• HS diploma with 5+ years in technical/defense experience.
• Exposure to SDRs, IP routing, or tactical communication systems.
• Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months.
• U.S. Citizenship required for government contracts.
• Background check and drug test clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze US Air Force priorities (DAF Battle Network, ACE, ABMS) and map requirements to radio solutions.
• Plan and run field trials, modernizations, and user evaluations.
• Collaborate to leverage testing data and verify architectures.
• Support BD in technical needs and strategic priorities alignment.
• Develop technical demos for airborne and expeditionary networking needs.
• Contribute to RFI/RFP responses and end-to-end network testing.
