Job summary

Ericsson is seeking a Data Center Optical Engineer to lead installation, maintenance, and operation of optical transport in customer data centers and co-locations. You will be the customer interface with vendors, ensuring high-quality execution across installations, migrations, and remote hands services.

Travel up to 50% to non-home market sites is required. You will audit daily work, communicate with customers, assist with fiber installation and testing, and interpret MoPs and network diagrams.

Qualifications

• Team lead experience required.
• Strong written and verbal English for customer-facing communications.
• Excellent organizational, administrative, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Audit daily work at customer data centers and provide feedback.
• Interact with customers via tickets or in person with clear reports.
• Assist with fiber installation, decommissioning, and remediation across data centers.
• Conduct and supervise optical testing and troubleshooting with meters, OTDRs, etc.
• Deliver services by following MoPs, engineering docs, and network diagrams.
• Read cut sheets and network designs to ensure correct port connections.
