Job summary

CONTACT Care Line is seeking a licensed crisis counselor to provide remote 988 text/chat/phone support. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Social Work or related field and at least 1 year of crisis experience. You’ll document interactions, follow safety protocols, and participate in ongoing trainings.

The position is fully remote, full-time, with standard 40-hour weeks. You’ll work across channels, collaborate via Slack and Teams, and adhere to strict privacy and reporting guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related mental health field.
• Minimum of 120 college credits required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in mental health or crisis intervention.
• Strong empathic listening and reflective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to 988 chat, text, and telephone interactions with compassion and timeliness.
• Manage two concurrent chat interactions during chat shifts per policy.
• Assess suicide risk and implement safety planning procedures.
• Provide emotional support and active listening, with de-escalation where needed.
• Document interactions accurately within organizational guidelines.
• Engage in SBAR consultations for escalated cases and mandatory reporting.
• Maintain Slack presence and respond to messages within minutes during shifts.
• Attend Teams meetings and participate in trainings.
