Job summary

CONTACT Care Line is seeking dedicated Crisis Counselors for fully remote, full-time positions. Shifts are 8.5 hours with weekend coverage required, and we rely on high-quality, confidential interactions with clients in distress.

Responsibilities include responding to 988 chat, text, and calls, assessing suicide risk, providing referrals, and maintaining meticulous documentation. Training provided; strict adherence to protocols and HIPAA standards is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related mental health field (or equivalent experience) is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in mental health, crisis intervention, or a related field.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must not be a current or recent client of CONTACT Care Line crisis program within past 3 years.
• Hardwired Ethernet connection required to ensure call and chat quality.

Responsibilities

• Respond to 988 chat, text, and telephone interactions in a timely and compassionate manner.
• During chat-focused shifts, manage two concurrent chat interactions following the two-chat policy.
• Assess and mitigate suicide risk using established protocols and safety planning procedures.
• Provide referrals to appropriate community resources as needed.
• Follow clinical and operational protocols across all shifts, including initiating phone contact if disconnection occurs during high-risk situations.
• Initiate and conduct follow-up outreach as needed.
• Participate in training for chat and phone-based services and document all visitor interactions per procedures.
• Maintain an active presence in Slack during scheduled shifts and respond within 3 minutes in relevant channels.
• Participate in meetings and supervision sessions on Microsoft Teams.
