Job summary

CONTACT Care Line is seeking a Crisis Counselor for a fully remote, full-time position. The role involves responding to 988 chat, text, and phone calls, assessing suicide risk, and creating safety plans.

You will document all interactions and participate in ongoing training, with a focus on compassionate, timely support. Shifts are 8.5 hours, with both weekend days required; a Bachelor’s in a related field or 1 year of relevant experience is required, and all staff must complete Crisis Counselor

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related mental health field, or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in mental health, crisis intervention, or a related field.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must not be a current or recent client of CONTACT Care Line crisis program.
• Full-time role, 40 hours/week, remote work with 8.5-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Respond to 988 chat, text, and telephone interactions in a timely and compassionate manner.
• Assess and mitigate suicide risk using established protocols and safety planning procedures.
• Provide referrals to appropriate community resources as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all visitor interactions.
• Participate in and complete training for both chat and phone-based services; document interactions per procedures.
• Maintain an active presence in Slack during scheduled shifts and engage in meetings on Microsoft Teams.
