Job summary

CONTACT Care Line is seeking full-time Crisis Counselors for a fully remote, 40-hour weekly role with 8.5-hour shifts. Weekend days are required.

Counselors assess suicide risk, provide compassionate support, and document interactions per clinical and operational policies. The position requires a Bachelor's in Social Work or related field, at least 1 year of mental health experience, strong communication, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related mental health field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in mental health, crisis intervention, or related field.
• Must be 18 years or older and not a current client of CONTACT Care Line crisis programs.
• Ability to remain calm and apply logical reasoning in high-stress situations.
• Proficiency with web-based applications and basic technical troubleshooting.
• Willingness to complete CONTACT Crisis Counselor Basic Training within two weeks.

Responsibilities

• Respond to 988 chat, text, and telephone interactions promptly.
• Assess suicide risk and implement safety planning procedures.
• Provide referrals to community resources as needed.
• Document all visitor interactions accurately and in line with guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies.
