Job summary

CommonSpirit is seeking a Coding Auditor and Educator for Professional Fee to support the coding team across ICD-10-CM, HCPCS and CPT-4 classifications. You will conduct internal audits, provide education, and ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance in coding and billing practices.

You will onboard and train new staff, develop ongoing educational programs, and collaborate with leadership on short- and long-term strategic planning to maintain excellence in compliant coding and regulatory

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Two or more years of PB coder audits, education, and training
• Five years of experience coding professional fee records
• CPC/CCS/CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA certifications recognized by AHIMA
• Epic experience
• Knowledge of professional fee coding rules and Medicare regulations
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers

Responsibilities

• Maintain mastery of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and regulatory guidelines as a subject matter expert.
• Conduct systematic chart audits to identify documentation gaps and trends.
• Lead onboarding for new hires and provide ongoing education on Risk Adjustment, HCCs and MEAT criteria.
• Develop and deploy training programs to keep coding teams current on health plan requirements.
• Build strong, cross-departmental relationships to standardize coding practices.
