Job summary

Vail Health Hospital is seeking a Clinic Scheduler to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and coordinate with patients, providers, and locations. You will manage patient information and messages, ensuring accurate demographics and secure communications.

Responsibilities include utilizing the EHR system, processing requests via patient portals and drop box, and maintaining professional, compliant interactions with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• 2 years administration or similar experience preferred.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules medical appointments through coordination of patients, providers, locations, payers, etc.
• Receives and initiates calls to and from patients, providers, outside provider offices, following scheduling procedures.
• Appropriately schedules appointments, tests and/or procedures, leveraging the EHR scheduling software.
• Promptly answers incoming calls in a professional manner and scheduling of patient appointments.
• Obtains patient demographics with accuracy including address, telephone number and insurance information.
• Manages electronic requests through drop box and patient portals to schedule appointments.
• Distributes faxes and helps manage needed requests.
• Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
• Must be HIPAA compliant
