Job summary

Vail Health Hospital is seeking a Clinic Scheduler to answer calls, answer scheduling questions, direct calls, and schedule appointments. The role involves coordinating patients, providers, locations, and payers, and using the EHR scheduling software to manage appointments and tests.

Preferred candidates have 2 years of administrative or medical office experience and knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• 2 years administration or similar experience preferred.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules medical appointments through coordination of patients, providers, locations, payers, etc.
• Receives and initiates calls to and from patients and providers following scheduling procedures.
• Appropriately schedules appointments, tests and/or procedures in the EHR system.
• Obtains patient demographics including address, phone and insurance information.
• Manages electronic requests through drop box and patient portals to schedule appointments.
