Job summary

Vail Health Hospital is seeking a Clinic Scheduler to handle scheduling requests, answer calls, and coordinate patient appointments in a fast-paced medical office.

The role prefers candidates with 2 years of administrative experience and familiarity with medical terminology, HIPAA, and OSHA guidelines. Knowledge of EHR systems is a plus, and accuracy in collecting patient demographics is essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years administration or similar experience preferred.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming phone calls, field questions about scheduling with providers, direct calls to appropriate parties, take and distribute messages, and schedule appointments.
• Schedule medical appointments through coordination of patients, providers, locations, payers, etc.
• Appropriately schedule appointments, tests and/or procedures, leveraging the electronic health record (EHR) scheduling software.
• Obtain patient demographics with accuracy to include address information, telephone number and insurance information.
• Distribute faxes to manage needed requests.
