Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Bank Controller to lead the bank accounting function during a growth phase. You will oversee monthly reporting, regulatory filings, and audits, while partnering with engineering and product teams to drive automation.

The role requires an accounting designation (CPA/CA) and at least 10 years in accounting/finance with 5 years in people management, within a remote-first, US-wide environment. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Qualifications

• CPA or CA designation required.
• Minimum 10 years of accounting/finance experience.
• Minimum 5 years of people management experience.
• Experience building tools and processes to scale an accounting team.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting.
• Strong analytical, cash management, and modeling skills.
• Detail-oriented with a strategic, can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Bank accounting team and set strategic direction.
• Liaise with cross-functional stakeholders to support finance processes.
• Oversee monthly financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure timely regulatory filings (FFIEC 041, Part 363, Fed reporting).
• Coordinate annual bank financial statement audits with external auditors.
• Drive automation of accounting/reporting with engineering/product teams.
• Manage additional financial analysis and project work as needed.
