Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Bank Controller to lead the bank accounting function during a growth phase. You will direct daily operations, oversee monthly and regulatory reporting, and partner with engineering to automate processes. A CPA/CA and a decade of accounting leadership are required.

Qualifications

• CPA or CA designation required.
• 10+ years in accounting, finance or treasury.
• 5+ years of people management.
• Experience building tools and processes and scaling accounting teams.
• Strong GAAP and regulatory reporting knowledge.
• Proven cash management, analysis and modeling experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the bank accounting function, providing strategic direction and coaching for the team.
• Serve as a primary liaison with cross-functional partners across finance, product, and engineering.
• Oversee monthly financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• Build and maintain regulatory reporting processes (FFIEC 041 Call Reports, Part 363, Federal Reserve).
• Coordinate annual bank financial statement audits with external auditors.
• Drive process automation to improve accounting and reporting efficiency.
• Manage financial analysis and special projects as needed.
