Job summary

Affirm is seeking a self-motivated Bank Controller to lead the Bank accounting function during a key growth phase. You will head the accounting team, drive regulatory reporting, and partner with cross-functional teams to improve processes and automation.

This role is remote-first and requires extensive GAAP knowledge and leadership experience. With a CPA/CA, you will oversee monthly reporting, collaborate with external auditors, and manage strategic financial analyses while guiding the function

Qualifications

• CPA or CA designation required.
• Minimum 10 years of accounting, finance or treasury-related experience.
• Minimum 5 years of people management experience.
• Experience building tools and processes, and scaling an Accounting team in a similar industry.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting.
• Proven analytics, cash management and modeling experience.
• Extremely detail oriented with a strategic, can-do mindset.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with engineering/product teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Bank accounting team and provide strategic direction, recruitment and coaching.
• Serve as primary liaison with cross-functional partners across the business.
• Oversee monthly financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including regulators.
• Build and maintain a robust regulatory reporting function (FFIEC, Part 363, Fed reports).
• Coordinate annual bank financial statement audit with external auditors.
• Drive automation in accounting/reporting with engineering/product teams.
• Manage additional financial analysis and projects as required.
