Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Bank Controller to lead day‑to‑day accounting operations and build a scalable function for growth. You will own monthly financial reporting, regulatory filings, and audit coordination, partnering with cross‑functional teams to drive accuracy and efficiency.

We value experienced leaders with CPA/CA credentials, 10+ years in accounting/finance, and 5+ years managing teams. This is a remote‑first role with US nationwide eligibility.

Qualifications

• CPA or CA designation required.
• 10+ years of accounting/finance experience.
• 5+ years of people management experience.
• Experience building tools and scaling an Accounting team.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting.
• Proven analytical and cash management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Bank accounting team with strategic direction, recruitment, and coaching.
• Serve as a primary liaison with cross‑functional partners.
• Oversee monthly financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders and regulators.
• Build and maintain regulatory reporting processes (FFIEC, Part 363, Fed reporting).
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual bank financial statement audits.
• Drive automation with engineering/product teams to improve accounting/reporting tooling.
• Manage additional financial analysis and strategic projects as needed.
