Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Bank Controller to lead the accounting function during a growth phase. You will manage daily banking operations, ensure GAAP compliance, and coordinate with regulators.

As a remote-first company, you will build and scale the accounting team, drive reporting to internal and external stakeholders, and partner with engineering and product to automate processes. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Qualifications

• CPA or CA certification required.
• 10+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance or Treasury-related areas.
• 5+ years of people management experience.
• Experience building tools/processes and scaling an Accounting team.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting.
• Proven analysis, cash management and modeling experience.
• Detail oriented with a strategic, can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Bank accounting team, provide strategic direction and coaching.
• Serve as primary liaison with cross-functional partners.
• Oversee monthly financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Build a controlled regulatory reporting function for filings (FFIEC 041, Part 363, Fed).
• Coordinate with external auditors on annual bank financial statements.
• Drive automation of accounting/reporting processes with engineering/product teams.
• Manage additional financial analysis and projects as required.
