Job summary

Affirm, a remote-first company reinventing credit, seeks a Bank Controller to lead daily accounting operations and regulatory reporting during growth. You will build and guide the bank accounting team, collaborating with engineering and product to automate processes and improve controls.

The role requires CPA/CA, 10+ years in accounting/finance, and 5+ years of people management. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• CPA or CA designation required.
• 10+ years of accounting, finance, or treasury experience.
• 5+ years of people management experience.
• Experience building tools and processes to scale an accounting team.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting.
• Strong analytical and cash management skills.
• Attention to detail with a strategic mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the bank accounting team with strategic direction and coaching.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including engineering and product.
• Oversee monthly financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders and regulators.
• Build a controlled regulatory reporting function for required filings (FFIEC 041, Part 363, Fed reporting).
• Coordinate annual bank financial statement audits with external auditors.
• Drive process automation in accounting/reporting with tech and product teams.
• Manage strategic analyses and other finance projects as needed.
