Chart Industries, Inc. seeks an Applications Engineer to serve as the primary technical resource for the field sales force, reviewing customer specs, developing proposals for centrifugal equipment, and guiding the design concept from inquiry to order.

This remote role supports customers in the United States, collaborating with sales and engineering teams to deliver technically sound, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field.
• Experience in centrifugal air/gas turbo-expander/turbo-compressor equipment.
• At least three years bidding/proposal experience for engineered equipment.
• Able to read technical drawings including P&IDs.
• Experience with API & ASME codes.
• Gas dynamics / design expertise a plus.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Air Separation and Power Generation.
• Experience in risk assessment a plus.
• Strong communication and independent work style.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review customer specs and develop proposals for centrifugal equipment to win new business.
• Perform technical review of specs and align with design scope.
• Perform calculations and product selections to meet process needs.
• Lead proposal communications with customer to steer acceptance.
• Coordinate internal proposal process with multiple teams to ensure complete cost coverage.
• Aim to meet KPIs like bookings value and OTD.
• Promote safety procedures.
• Develop product knowledge and articulate tech positioning.
• Provide design support to consultants, integrators, distributors.
• Respond to RFIs/RFPs and listen to customer requirements.
• Train sales staff on products.
• Assist in design and development of new products.
• Maintain records in Salesforce.
• Resolve customer issues in line with company mission.
• Maintain relationships with target accounts.
• Provide status of ongoing projects.
• Identify customer needs for future growth.
• Other duties as assigned.
